Cleaning Up Your Ventilation System
About Me
Cleaning Up Your Ventilation System

When I moved into my first place, I couldn't believe how dirty everything was all the time. I found myself dusting and mopping continuously, only to deal with a fresh layer of grime later. After awhile, I realized that the problem was blowing straight out of my air ducts. My ventilation lines were so dirty that it was spreading grime through my house every single time the air clicked on. Fortunately, I called an HVAC contractor who was able to clean my vents to a gleaming shine. I know how big of a difference cleaning up your ventilation system can make, which is why I want to spread the word.

Does Your Bedroom Stay Hot When The Rest Of The House Is Cold? What To Do With The AC

Rick Wells

If are sitting up at night and you can't sleep because your air conditioner doesn't get cold air to your bedroom, and you think it's because the unit has a problem, get it inspected. There are a lot of things that could be causing the heat to stay stagnate in your room and things that you will have to change if you want to sleep in a nice, cool temperature. Here are some of the things to talk with the HVAC contractor about when they are looking at the ventilation system and the air conditioner to see what needs to be done.

Duct Problems

The ducts have to transport the cold air from you AC unit throughout the house. The contractor will look through the ducts to see if there are complications preventing the air from getting to the bedroom or if the air is leaking through the ducts. Air loss is a common problem with HVAC systems, and a major leak in the ducts before your bedroom could be the reason your air isn't getting cool.

Air Conditioning Tune Up

Your air conditioner may need to be tuned up if no one has looked at it in years to check for flaws. If the vents are dirty, a filter needs to be changed, or there are sensors and coils that need to be replaced, this could be preventing the air conditioning unit from working up to it's potential. You want an inspection along with the tune up to see what can be done to get the unit working more productively and more efficiently.

Unit Upgrade and Replacement

It may be time for you to upgrade the air conditioning unit and replace it for a unit that is newer and works more efficiently. There are a lot of different units that are ideal for those who want the highest performance output options to get air all throughout the house, and you may be currently using the wrong size for your home.

These are just some of the things that you want to think about if you are sitting in your room at night dealing with high temperatures and heat but the rest of the house is cool from the air conditioning unit. Get an estimate for the work that needs to be done, and then figure out how much you want to spend and what repairs need to be completed to get the cool air and cool sheets you need.
